Wrist pain

Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome are both often diagnosed as causes of wrist pain, although the former can also present in the elbow, fingers or thumb.

From an office-based perspective both conditions can be caused by overuse of the mouse, or the constant use of the muscles in the forearm.

Wrist pain is not exclusively a complaint of office-based work: manual handling of loads or other repetitive movements can also cause muscle strains.

An osteopath will work on improving the movement of the joints to extend the range of motion and to relax the surrounding tissues in an effort to reduce the pain that the patient feels.
