Osteopathy is not a cure for arthritis, and cannot treat the condition itself; however it can help to reduce pain, increase mobility and offer advice on how to manage the condition’s development.

Using gentle massage techniques, an osteopath can relax the affected areas to encourage a reduction in swelling.  They will also be able to advise you of ways you can alter your posture or lifestyle in an effort to minimise the pain triggers.  Coupled with any suggested exercises or stretches you and your osteopath can work to strengthen the muscles around the problem areas and therefore reduce both the strain and pain (and ultimately reduce the rate of degeneration).
